About us

Forest School Solihull, Forest School and Outdoor Learning Dorridge, Forest School Dorridge and Solihull

Growing up I spent much of my time on my grandparents farm, helping harvest potatoes and sugar beet. I loved nothing more than getting my hands dirty and driving in the tractors alongside both of my parents. Some of my fondest and dearest memories have been created in the outdoors, as both a child and an adult.

I am never happier than when I am out, in the fresh air, holding the hands of our children George and Mabel. The natural world is a space we all feel free and comfortable in. Free to explore, express ourselves, take risks, create memories, friendships and learn life long lessons.

My passion for nurturing each child's individuality, creativity, imagination and happiness sits at the core of Wonder Woods. I truly believe in the Forest school ethos, and the incredibly positive impact it has on little ones of all ages and abilities. Through allowing children to experience freedom in nature, we are allowing them to blossom and grow, away from the expectations and limits which are so often placed upon them in the modern world.

The forest school ethos originated in Denmark, it encourages children to take risks, explore, understand the natural world and understand themselves. It is designed to increase self esteem and self understanding, promoting social skills, communication, motivation and physical skills. Starting Wonder Woods Forest School is an extension of who I am. Learning the Forest school ethos has altered parts of my soul and had such a positive impact on our family life. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion.

I have had the privilege of being involved in many childcare settings over the last 16 years, including, co-owning of a crèche, working in nurseries, paediatric hospital units in London and the West Midlands, children's centres, private nannying and most recently primary schools. My love of working alongside children has never faded. For me it is simple, Wonder Woods is a doorway to create lasting memories with the children I meet.

Sessions will run on a 6 week plan, although longer continuous exposure to Forest school is recommended to truly implant the ethos. As I get to know your little wonders I will be able to create activities to enhance their specific growth. My hope is to provide boundless opportunities for children to play and grow at Wonder Woods.
